Al-Husseini Mosque stands in the heart of downtown Amman. The Ottoman-style mosque was rebuilt in 1924 by King Abdullah I on the site of an earlier mosque traditionally dated to 640 AD and associated with Caliph Umar bin Al-Khattab.
