Qusayr Amra is part of Jordans network of Umayyad desert castles, a group of pavilions, caravan stations, baths, agricultural estates and hunting lodges built during the early Islamic period. These monuments preserve evidence of mosaic, stucco, fresco decoration and sophisticated water systems.
