Hisban, southwest of Amman - Jordan

Hisban is widely identified with biblical Heshbon and occupies a highland position overlooking the northern Dead Sea and lower Jordan Valley. The archaeological tell preserves remains from the Iron Age, Graeco-Roman, Byzantine and medieval Islamic periods.
